This update brings some exciting changes to the realistic KAMAZ 6460 Truck in Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2). The goal was to enhance the truck’s authenticity while maintaining a touch of fun. The modifications mainly focus on the truck’s specifications, so the author’s rights to the model are not affected.
Here are the changes:
1. The engine and transmission parameters have been adjusted to match real-life performance.
2. Three new engines have been added as options for the KAMAZ truck: Cummins ISLe 380 (Euro 4), 1851 R6 BlueTec 6, and YAMZ-A.
3. Two chassis options have been included specifically for hauling loads over 100 tons. Their only difference is the weight of the truck. This is because the game engine does not consider the load on the trailer’s saddle. Increasing the truck’s weight ensures proper balance and prevents the front wheels from lifting off the ground or the rear wheels from slipping. However, this can result in increased fuel consumption and limit the skidding and overturning (it will move like a tram on rails!). But these effects can be overlooked, considering that the truck is primarily used for transporting heavy equipment at relatively low speeds.
4. To handle heavy loads with a less powerful engine, multiple variations of the transmission with different gear ratios have been implemented. This enables smoother transportation even with a mediocre engine. Each transmission variation is labeled with two parameters: FG (gear ratio of the first gear) and D (gear ratio).
5. The names of accessories have been corrected for better consistency.
6. The truck is now available for purchase from various in-game companies.
7. You can also find the truck showcased in the showroom.
8. A new sound from the JAMZ-A engine, taken from the Ural 43202 mod, has been added. Credits to the mod author for their contribution.
The update has been tested on version 1.16.2 with the TSM 5.4 mod and several other mods. However, if any issues were overlooked, please provide feedback so they can be addressed.
The source for the engines, transmission, and chassis can be found in the archive.
Tested on version 1.16 of ETS2.
