SOUND FIXES PACK 15

The SOUND FIXES PACK 15 for Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2) provides improvements to common sounds in the game, making them feel more immersive and realistic. Version 15 of the pack includes several updates and enhancements to various sound elements in the game.

One of the changes in version 15 is the reworked train sounds, with train horns becoming more frequent when approaching. Additionally, the rattle sound at high speeds has been discontinued, and the retarder sound has been reverted back to version 14.3. The noise from asphalt/tarmac tires has also been lowered, and the rumble stripe sound has been balanced for both lower and higher speeds.

Other improvements in this pack include optimized def and sound files, enhanced external suspension sound quality, improved AI traffic truck sounds that are more accurate to European AI traffic trucks, and cleaned quality of helicopter and biplane sounds.

Starting from version 15, the def file will only need to be installed or replaced once. When downloading future updates of this pack, there is no need to update the original def file. Additionally, version numbers are no longer used in the file name as of v15, making it more convenient and efficient to replace the base file in the mod folder.

The features of the SOUND FIXES PACK 15 include enhanced tire sounds on different road surfaces, improved suspension sounds with added cabin squeaking and movement, replacement of the “Late music” with a Nokia phone ringtone sound, “Bing bong” chime for the train and ferry loading screen sounds, reworked garage door sound with corrected volume, reduced volume of adviser message sound and yawn for fatigue simulation, classic/historic ding sound for fuel pumping, real fuel pump and lid sounds, door close sound, seat belt click, and key insertion sound effect after refueling, mix of stock amplified gear grinding sounds and new gear grinding sounds, real stick/switch/button sounds for various functions, real retarder sound for trucks, lift axle sound with button press sound effect, real sound effect for trailer coupling, installation of Driver Alert Support system sound on all trucks, new horn sounds for AI traffic vehicles, more variations of sounds for AI traffic trucks and buses, proper motorcycle engine sounds for motorcycles in Jazzycat’s AI traffic pack, revving engine sound for blocked motorcycles, AI cars towing trailers using car sounds, audible sound of overtaking vehicles in the oncoming lane, wind sound and subtle cabin rattling at high speeds, pattering rain sound on windshield during heavy rain, enhanced soundscape for prefabs in American Truck Simulator (ATS), and louder volume and reworked audio for biplanes, trains (including train horns), helicopters, cable cars, and Boeing planes.

The SOUND FIXES PACK 15 is compatible with and tested on ETS2 version 1.23.3 and ATS version 1.1.1. It is also forwards compatible with ATS version 1.2. There are no errors in the game log, and the mod is fully stable. It is compatible with all trucks, including mod trucks, and can be used with any number of truck sound mods. The pack is also compatible with all maps and supports compatibility with Realistic Weather Sound 1.7.5. Both mods can be enabled at the same time, with the Sound Fixes Pack having higher priority.

To adjust the volume of wind and tire noise, developer commands can be used. The syntax for these commands is: s_air_noise [value from 0.0 to 1.0] (default is 1) and s_wheel_noise [value from 0.0 to 1.0] (default is 1).

For installation, the SOUND FIXES PACK 15 usually requires the highest priority in the Mod Manager, above map mods, environmental mods, and AI traffic mods. If other mods are placed at a higher priority than this pack, the correct operation of the pack is not guaranteed and results may vary.
