TOP CHOICE FOR VOLVO GEARBOX / TRANSMISSION IN ETS 2
My personal favorite is the Volvo FH Classic.
When playing the game, there is a goal to drive trucks from all brands. This gave me the opportunity to explore other trucks and their gearboxes. I noticed that most trucks shift into 12th gear at 80 km/h.
However, Volvo trucks shift into 12th gear at a higher speed of 85 km/h. This means that under normal circumstances, the truck stays in 11th gear for longer periods, leading to increased fuel consumption. To address this issue, I decided to make some modifications.
I have significantly shortened the 11th gear and made minor adjustments to the surrounding gears to ensure smooth shifting and eliminate any uncomfortable jumps. As a result, now you can set the cruise control at 80 km/h and the truck will remain in 12th gear, optimizing fuel efficiency.
Additionally, as a bonus feature, I have added 2 reverse gears, bringing the total to 3. Now, Volvos are capable of reaching a speed of 35 km/h in reverse.
