NORTHERN SCANDINAVIA V0.98.8 FOR 1.21X (STANDALONE) Truck
A new standalone Northern Scandinavia map, version 0.98.8, has been released by Chris94_NOR specifically for ETS2 patch 1.21. To use this map mod, you must have the DLC Scandinavia installed. This requirement was introduced in version 0.98.5. Here are some Q&A regarding the mod:
Q: Why is DLC Scandinavia required for this map?
A: The map uses models, prefabs, roads, tunnels, and other assets from DLC Scandinavia.
Q: Do I also need DLC Going East if I have DLC Scandinavia?
A: No, DLC Going East is not required as the map does not utilize any models or prefabs from it.
Q: Is the map compatible with other map mods?
A: No, unfortunately, the map is not compatible with other map mods due to it being a standalone map and having a different scale compared to the vanilla map. The standard scale of the ETS 2 map is 1:19 (UK is 1:15), whereas this map uses a 1:1 real-life scale with real-time hours.
Q: Is it possible to make this map compatible with other map mods?
A: It is not possible without creating a new map in the same scale as the vanilla map, which would require leaving out many cities. I have considered making a Northern Scandinavia map in the 1:19 scale before, but I haven’t been successful.
Installation:
– Copy and paste the following files to “Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod”: NorthernScandinavia-def.scs, NorthernScandinavia-map.scs, and tzmap.scs
– Create a new profile (only for those who don’t already have a profile for this map)
– Set the game module to “Test1.mdb” instead of “europe.mdb” because this is a standalone map
– Complete the profile creation process and then select your starting city. Currently, the available options for headquarters are Bodø and Fauske.
Bug fixes in version 0.98.8 for patch 1.20:
– Fixed transparency issue with truck windows
– Adapted to the new weather feature
– Removed all invisible walls on the 4-lane road between Bertnes and Vikan (discovered on the inner lane)
– Fixed spawning bug with ferries (Bodø-Moskenes)
– Fixed the AutoPass in the intersection up to Hunstadmoen.
