A new version of the standalone Northern Scandinavia map has been released. This is version 0.98.9 and includes several upgrades. For the first time, the main download area is being used from the creator’s own forum. If this is successful, all future download links will be directed to the forum.

Here are some important questions and answers regarding this map:

Q: Why is the DLC Scandinavia required to use this map?
A: The map utilizes models, prefabs, roads, tunnels and other assets from the DLC Scandinavia.

Q: If the DLC Scandinavia is required, is the DLC Going East also required?
A: No, the DLC Going East is not required as the map does not use any models or prefabs from it.

Q: Is this map compatible with other map mods?
A: Unfortunately, this map is not compatible with other map mods as it is a standalone map and operates on a different scale than the vanilla map. The standard ETS2 map is on a scale of 1:19 (UK is 1:15), whereas this map is on a real-life scale of 1:1, with real-time hours.

Q: Can this map be made compatible with other map mods?
A: It is not possible to make this map compatible with other map mods because it would require creating a new map on the same scale as the vanilla map, which would result in leaving out many cities. The creator has considered making a Northern Scandinavia map on a 1:19 scale before, but was not successful.

Installation:
– Copy and paste NorthernScandinavia-def.scs, NorthernScandinavia-map.scs, and tzmap.scs to the “Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod” folder.
– Create a new profile (only for those who don’t already have a profile of this map).
– Set the game module to “Test1.mdb” and not “europe.mdb” because this is a standalone map.
– Complete the profile setup and then select your city. The available cities for headquarters are Bodø and Fauske.
