The Sound Fixes Pack V17.54 is a mod for Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2) and American Truck Simulator (ATS) that aims to improve the game’s audio experience. The latest update (17.54) brings several changes, including the replacement of the stock common stick sound with a new sound and the addition of real engine and air horn sounds for the Morgan Olson Vans in ATS. Other improvements include better air brake sounds, enhanced quality of the reverse beeper sound, and the replacement of the doppler effect air horn with a train horn in the upgrade shop/service station. The mod is regularly updated to bring more realistic sounds to the game.
It is important to note that the Sound Fixes Pack mod requires higher priority in the Mod Manager than any map mods, AI traffic mods, and AI traffic density/behavior mods. This ensures compatibility and proper functioning of the mod. The feature list of the mod includes various enhancements to tire sounds, suspension sounds, gameplay/UI sounds, fuel/gas station sounds, interior sounds, trailer sounds, AI traffic sounds, mover sounds, and location-based ambience. Additionally, improved air horn sounds are available for ATS at the service station.
The Sound Fixes Pack mod is compatible with ETS2 versions 1.27.2 and 1.28.0, as well as ATS versions 1.6.2 and 1.28.0. It does not replace individual truck sounds, allowing it to be used with other truck sound mods. The mod is also compatible with all maps and can be used alongside rain sound mods such as Realistic Weather Sound 1.7.7. For the best experience with seasonal and winter mods, the mod’s load order and Frosty Winter Weather Sound addon should be considered. Lastly, for traffic density/behavior mods, the mod provides a realistic sound ranges plugin that can be enabled by making a small adjustment in the traffic_data.sii file.
If wind or tire noise is too loud, users have the option to adjust its volume using developer commands. These commands, s_air_noise and s_wheel_noise, allow the volume to be set between 0.0 and 1.0, with 1.0 being the default volume.
